About Academy of Music

Established in 1995, the Academy of Music School has taught hundreds of students to develop their musical talents, earn scholarships, perform on a professional level and participate in life-enriching cultural events. We believe that everyone, no matter their age or experience can have enriching musical experiences through instrumental study, music ensemble participation and music classes.

With two convenient locations, we serve students from Richmond, Virginia and the surrounding areas through private lessons, early childhood music, performing ensembles, music history and theory classes, workshops and master classes.

The schedule of classes, individual lessons, coaching by our distinguished faculty, ensemble rehearsals and workshops offer a challenging and exhilarating experience. The experience is complemented by stimulating guest artists, faculty and student concerts and performance seminars. We also teach music theory and music history for the serious student or adult looking for insights as a concert-goer.
