We offer a number of opportunities for our students to sharpen their performance skills, including a community-based choral music program, youth and adult harp ensembles, and chamber music sessions with other instrumentalists.

This ensemble is comprised of the harp students at the Academy of Music. There is one for youth and another for adults, with an emphasis on harp ensemble training. The ensembles perform at nursing homes and hospitals in the Richmond area to provide beautiful music as a community service. Students are encouraged to bring their own harps, although some are available for use. New members at all levels are enthusiastically welcomed. web site
We offer a community-based choral music program for children ages seven to eighteen. Through rehearsals and performances young singers develop listening and reading skills, a sense of teamwork and community and an appreciation for the voice as a musical instrument.
Advanced students have the opportunity to work on chamber music with other instrumentalists. They also may work on more difficult harp ensemble works. Chamber Music will be coached by faculty and adjunct faculty from the Richmond area orchestras.
