The Virginia Choir Camp offers an inspirational one week choral music experience for youth ages seven to fifteen. Singers are challenged to attain choral excellence, develop musicianship skills and confidence in their ability to express themselves through the beauty of music.

Students will receive instruction in vocal production, diction, breathing, eurythmics, aural skills/theory and music history. Singing acapella as well as in 2 to 4 parts, singers will experience a broad range of choral literature including classical music, folk songs of many countries and cultures, sacred and secular songs.

It is a week of sharing with other musicians; of making lifetime friendships; of developing interpersonal skills; and of growing as a musician and an individual. The daily schedule of rehersals, classes and individual attention from our distinguished faculty is a challenging and exhilarating artistic experience.
The combination of an outstanding faculty, the beautiful and historic setting in the heart of Virginia, a rich musical environment and talented students from across the Richmond metro area makes the camp an exciting, memorable and rewarding experience. The VCC offers a supportive and inspiring musical environment for the student artist.
Most importantly, voice students of all levels are welcome. Attention is given to individual needs, learning style and physiology. Repetiore selections are tailored to match student abilities. Students will receive instruction on proper vocal production. Emhasis will be placed on exercises to reach a singer's appropriate range, the development of effective practice skills, memorization techniques and performance etiquette.
The week will include group rehersals, individual attention, music theory, history and musicianship classes. A concert of choral music will conclude the week.
