Throughout the morning and afternoon sessions, we will take ?breaks? to participate in Dalcroze inspired rhythmic movement activities. Founded by Swiss music educator Emile Jaques Dalcroze, Eurhythmics is a unique approach to developing musicianship through movement, ear training and improvisation activities.
Learn basic skills of conducting and leading an ensemble. Students will prepare a short score while conducting their peers. Students will be have an opportunity to conduct in the final performance.
Students will gain insights into orchestral playing from orchestral harpists as well as a professional conductor during this informative session.
A brief lecture on the history of Jazz. All harpists will learn the basics of improvisation.
Information will be given regarding careers in music and places for further study.
The business aspects of music will be explored, with its resources and realities. Students will develop a wedding repertoire list and book, individualized contracts, marketing strategies and other practical components of a professional harpist.
Insight into the emerging field of harp therapy. Exciting new research, applications and possibilities will be explored.
This informative session with a harp technician will help students learn how to keep their instruments in shape between regulations.
In this seminar, we explore tips, tricks and techniques for efficent and effective practicing. Learning how to work, or as we call it, "the habits of greatness" makes all the difference. Year after year, students (and their teachers) say this seminar has inspired the most profound growth in their harp playing.
